Cala
Mayor/San Agustin/Illetas...
Southwest,
about 5 min. west of Palma. Cala Mayor once
the preferred summer place for the inhabitants
of Palma. Today in the process of becoming
a popular village for all year round active
living. The Spanish King has his summer residence
here. All kinds of shops, restaurants (partly
on the sea side), bars, bakeries, discotheques
and a beautiful long sandy beach, with the
4-star Hotel Nixe Palace above, are found
here. Close to several golf courses. San Agustin
hs nice houses with great sea view and by
the sea there is a famous sailing school,
situated at a delightful marina, with its
own little beach and a bar restaurant. A 30
km long walking and cycling path leads to
Palma and further, or in the other direction:
to the marina Puerto Portals and all the way
to Santa Ponsa. Walking distance to Porto
Pi Shopping Center and the village of Genova
with its famous local restaurants. A few minutes
with car or the local bus will take you to
popular Illetas, where you can swim from cliffs
or the beach. The public bus takes you in
minutes to Palma.
